# Community Access ### **Can I provide input on spending?** * **75% Kansas Fights Addiction Fund (KFA) share: Depends on future programming (not required).** The [Kansas Fights Addiction Act Grant Review Board](https://www.ag.ks.gov/reports-resources/affiliated-organizations/kansas-fights-addiction-act-grant-review-board) is not required to seek public input on uses of its share. However, in late 2023, the Sunflower Foundation selected the University of Kansas Center for Public Partnerships and Research to complete a “year-long, comprehensive statewide needs assessment of substance use disorder (SUD) systems and related work” to support planning and future investments by the Kansas Fights Addiction Review Board.\[1] This effort, [United to Transform](https://unitedtotransform.com/), conducted an online survey that invited the public to engage in visioning about the future and to offer feedback on factors that will lead to transformation of the “SUD ecosystem” in Kansas. * **25% Municipalities Fight Addiction Fund share: Up to each locality (not required).** Local governments are not required to seek public input on uses of their shares. However, each may choose to seek such input. Watch for opportunities to weigh in on city and county spending decisions, such as city council meetings and town halls. ### **Can I apply for grants?** **Yes.** Kansas has established settlement-funded grant opportunities for which community organizations are eligible to apply.
